The Fashion Forecast for Coachella 2025
By Maleah Puente
Coachella is only a few days away and outfits are beginning to take form. Fashion is so heavily inspired by music and Coachella has become an infamous place for fans to show off their best outfits. Here are my 2025 predictions and what I expect to see in the desert this spring.
My favorite theme of 2024’s Coachella fashion was the Dune-esque, utilitarian outfits. We saw plenty of mesh and lace hoods and skirts, paired with layered belts that emulated a Medieval costume. My personal winner of last year’s outfits was @zoifish on Instagram and TikTok. She embodied this aesthetic perfectly, and it's a theme I see happening on a larger scale this year.
With headliners Lady Gaga, Green Day, Post Malone, and Travis Scott, I expect to see a plethora of personal style from all genres of fans. For example, Lady Gaga’s new album, Mayhem, has brought a rebrand that feels a lot like the fierce Gaga we all grew up with. I see this aesthetic promoting chaotic, iconic, Gaga-esque outfits. Just like at any concert, the fans will show up in their version of the artist’s style and how the music makes them feel.
Some textures I predict to see incorporated in attendee’s outfits are sequins and shells. These two details have been popping up a lot recently in tops, handbags, and heels. Specifically, I can picture outfits with a sparkly “Ibiza top” paired with a colorful skirt, and seashell accessories. A sequin top with seashells in hair would bring a bubbly Aquamarine energy to a festival look.
Lastly, circling back to dressing like your favorite artist, I think Coachella will be flooding with Brat inspired outfits. Charli xcx’s album, Brat, was released June 2024 meaning the huge 365 party girl movement has not yet been shown off at Coachella. I expect to see all the Brat girls showing up in micro skirts, micro shorts, and micro dresses. Pairing any of these with leather boots and their favorite see through top will make for a super sexy desert outfit.
